you need a new onr they do this occasionally and then need to be replaced
its is you tachnometer that needs to be reseated or replaced.
In the dash next to the speedometer? Is this a trick question?
Replace the dash cluster that's what it sounds like to me since your tachometer and speedometer both don't work
you need to replace the gauges
buy a new one speed sensor on tranmission going bad. If you go to your local library you can usually access repair manuals on the shelf or online to find out how to diagnos the problem.
The wires on the back of the gauge pod could have possibly come loose. Two of the screws that hold the gauge assembly in are hidden behind the air vents, they just pull out at a slight downward angle.
The speedometer needs to work in a vehicle for safety and informative reasons. The causes of it intermittently working could be the lack of electricity, or a problem with the sensor.Ê
YOU HAVE A BAD INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, i OWN AND OPERATE A REPAIR FACILITY THAT SERVICES A LOT OF VW`S AND THIS IS AN INHERENT TRAIT. Answer2: I have a 1997 Jetta TD. The cluster went down also. For me I had to resolder each pin out of the 20 or 24 pin connector on the Electronic board of the cluster. Hope it can help.
Check the speed sensor.
The 2002 VW Jetta speedometer fuse will be the number 14 fuse. The number 14 fuse will be in the second column, fourth from the top.
Top of the transmission...
What do you mean? The heat is fine in my 97 volkswagen jetta.
you cant you basically have to go and get one from a junk yard because I have a 97 Jetta and thatsw what I did because there was no other way to replace it.
Hi, I had this problem some years ago, the first thing you can check is the speed sensor (some small gears over the transmission). If the speed sensor is ok, then, as in my case, may be a faulty connection in the speed/tach panel, I removed the full panel, open the case and see that the solder connections were broken, so I just resoldered them and that corrected the problem. If you are not familiar with electrictronics or soldering, is better to look for a car instruments workshop.
Volkswagen Jetta's produced in 1996 do not have dipsticks. To check the fluid levels one will need to take out the speedometer sensor.
This is a common problem with the Celebration Edition (or so I'm told). There is a small array of lights around the edge of the display and when they go out, you need to basically remove the dash to replace them. The part is about fifteen bucks, but the labor is 2-300. Awesome.
If it has stopped working then you will need a new a/c compressor. Get out your wallet they will run you about $1200.
Fuse box on 98 Jetta is located under steering wheel above pedals.
This light comes on to tell you that you must depress the brake pedal to shift from park.
Based on all of the information given in the question, we can speculate that it may be broke.
definetly a globe fused
When working on a car, it is important to have an engine diagram to use as a guide. An engine diagram for a 1996 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 can be found in the maintenance manual.
your horn is not working, the alarm has a different horn.
the vehicle speed sensor is on the tranny it hooks onto your speedometer. the engine speed sensor is on the front of the engine, two different sensors guys.
Jetta is a type of car.
