Any games you use from the UK will work, but not the ones from the US. The US uses NTSC, and the UK uses PAL, You're in the same region as the UK. PAL and NTSC are region. I also assume that the wii was purchased in Ireland? If it was bought in the US it will only play NTSC.

∙ 11y agoNo USA games are designed to work with the USA PS3 which is different because of the TV system in the USA. India uses PAL and model prefix number 08 and North America uses NTSC and model prefix 01

∙ 12y agops3 only works where ever you got it from example if i got a ps3 from Edmonton then it would work but if you go to red deer it can work you need to go to places that arent that far.

Im sorry to tell you that the U.S PS3 games will not work on UK PS3 console, and the reason for that is -The PS3 games are made with regions. The US PS3 games are made for region 1 and UK PS3 games are region 2... Therefore the region 1 ps3 console will only play region 1 ps3 games, just like region 2 ps3 console will only play region 2 ps3 games. Hope that makes any sense. If you have more questions just message me. The reason is not region coding, but it is the USA TV design system is different from the others and games made to work for the USA system do not all have the ability to be changed and be played on the UK and Europe TVs. The affect is the same as if they were region coded except that region coding fixes also will not work because it is the TVs that can not play the games and not the PS3
