measure the two wheelbases to find out, if they match then yes, if no you can extend or shorten the frame.
1964 Chevelle, 2 door or 4 door, hardtop or sedan frames interchange. Convertible will fit but the 2 door or 4 door, hardtop or sedan will not fit the convertible.
The 1970 chevelle body is mounted on top of a full frame the 1970 chevelle is not a unibody design like the camaro or nova
Yes. A body, is full frame. F body would be a sub frame, like camaro, or nova.
AnswerYes. The frame and body design on both Chevelle and El Camino were identical in 1964. Refer to a manual for your installation. Try opgi.com for starters. This is where I get parts as well. Good luck.Be sure to recognize that the window rails of the doors are different. On the Chevelle, the top structure of the door is relatively square and on the El Camino it is slanted, therefor some bodywork will be required to swap doors.
you have to have the car off the ground and look underneath it and you will see body mounts on the frame, there are approx. 8 to 10 mounts that hold the body to the frame.
any 71 chevelle body should drop onto that frame as I believe they used the same frame.
Yes... Sort of anyway. The Monte Carlo uses a 4 door Chevelle frame even though the Monte Carlo is a 2 door car. The 4 door frame is longer than the 2 door Chevelle frame. and the wheelbase is 4 inches longer. So if you have a Monte Carlo, a 4 door Chevelle frame will work. If you have a 4 door Chevelle, a Monte Carlo frame will work. If you have a 2 door Chevelle, then you will need to use a frame from ANY 2 door GM A body except for the Monte Carlo.... The Tempest/Lemans/GTO, Cutlass, Skylark, and Chevelle all used the same frames and are completely interchangeable.
A frame from ANY '68-72 GM A body convertible will fit because they all use the same frame. I'd stick to the convertible frames because they are reinforced to deal with the lack of a permanent roof.
If they are of the same model type it will, check out that they are of the exact same model before trying. NO, they are definitely different body styles.
No, it will not. NONE of the body panels will interchange. The Monte Carlo was a 2 door body fitted to a 4 door Chevelle frame. The doors and hood are considerably longer and have VERY different body lines.
The frame from ANY GM A-body of the same body type (2-door, 4-door, etc) will bolt right in because they all use the same frames. So a frame from a Chevelle, Tempest/Lemans/GTO, Buick Skylark, or Cutlass will fit. Any frame from 1964-1967 will work. 1968 and later frames won't work because the wheelbase changed in 1968.
if the buick is also an A body they will work as the chevelle is an A body.
No it will not.
