I have a 1989 Probe LX. 1. make sure the button on the cruise control is IN 2. press the button on the end of the stalk at desired speed. 3. setting can then be changed up/down by raising or lowering the stalk. 4. the 'speed alarm' function has nothing to do with the cruise control.

Either a 4-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic

Yes 89-92 2.2l nonturbos are the same, and 89-92 turbos are the same

If you're talking about the VSS, it's located at the top of the transmission, above the transmission output shaft. It looks like a probe, but you're only going to see the top of it until you remove it.

That would depend on which 5 speed manual transmission you have in your 1989 Ford Ranger : The Mitsubishi ( transmission code " D " ) takes ( 80-90W gear lube ) The Mazda ( transmission code " M " ) takes ( MERCON automatic transmission fluid )

In a 1989 Ford Ranger : No If you have the Mitsubishi made 5 speed manual transmission ( transmission code " D " ) it takes ( 2.4 U.S. quarts of 80-90W gear lube ) If you have the Mazda made 5 speed manual transmission ( transmission code " M " ) it takes ( 2.8 U.S. quarts of MERCON automatic transmission fluid )

The speed sensor is located on the top of your transmission. You can see it pretty easily by just climbing under and looking for it.
