Doubtful, as it must connect to the transfer case that is used in lots of FWD vehicles.
NEW ANSWER: No it will not.. The center shaft that runs through the center of the transmission is shorter then a 4-wheel drive transmission because there is no transfur case on a 2-wheel drive transmission.
YES they are the SAME transmissions. DIRECT BOLT IN SWAP. Just remember that 4-wheel and 2-wheel drive transmissions will NOT interchange.
That would be the 4L60E transmission. Nothing under the year 2000 will work in that truck. It must also be a 4-wheel drive transmission. 2 and 4-wheel drive transmissions WILL NOT INTERCHANGE.
The ONLY 2 years that will work is 96 and 97 4L60E transmission. If it is a 4-wheel drive then it must be a 4-wheel drive transmission. If it is a 2-wheel drive then it must be a 2-wheel drive transmission. 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive transmissions will not interchange.
The transmission is the same
NO... 2 and 4-wheel drive transmissions WILL NOT INTERCHANGE.
Yes it will fit but you will have to have a driveshaft made for it because the transfur case will not work on a 2-wheel drive transmission. 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive transmissions will NOT interchange
maybe its automatic transmission fluid
The center shaft in a 2-wheel drive transmission is shorter then a 4-wheel drive transmission because the 2-wheel drive does not have a transfur case on the back of it. NOW, You can take the center shaft out of the 4-wheel drive trans. and install it in the 2-wheel trans. and it will now work in the 4-wheel drive vehicle. To change the center shaft requires both transmission to be taken all the way apart.
Turn 4WD off. Put transmission in reverse and back up a few feet. Return transmission to drive. If this does not work then something is not right and you should probably take it to a shop. NO it will not. The center shaft in the 2-wheel drive transmissions are shorter then the 4-wheel drive transmission cause there is no need for a transfur case on the 2-wheel drives.
The tailpiece on the 4x4 transmission allows the transfer case to be bolted to it The tail piece would have to be changed for a 2 wheel drive vehicle
Check the linkage. If it's good your getting due for some tranny work.
