yes gm makes all bell housings the same
A 2001 Pontiac Sunfire requires 1.8 quarts of DEXRON III fluid for the 5-speed manual transmission.
I think it is a clutch operated switch mounted on the clutch pedel up under the dash.
Will a Sunfire GT transmission fit what? Can you give us a bit more info, please?
The transmission dipstick on a 1994 Pontiac Sunfire is located on the left side of the engine. It connects to the transmission via a long tube which also allows for adding transmission fluid.
no.... Pontiac changed to a new transmission in 2000
standard More: Judging from what is shown here: http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/1995-to-2005-pontiac-sunfire-6.htm Either transmission type was available.
All of the transmission fluid is inside the transmission. There is no external reserve.
If it's an auto transmission, it could be that the shift linkage is out of adjustment and is not putting the car into gear properly. Or, you may be low on fluid. Check that at the fill plug on the side of the transmission. If it's a standard, you probably need a new clutch.
You normally fill the transmission by way of the dipstick tube.
7 quarts
