No, there is no connection.
a frozen compressor will burn a belt right off the engine... check it out..also everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the library should have a professional manual available...in the reference section, you'll have to make copies of the important sections...good luck :)
If there is a bypass pulley you'd have to go to a dealer to get it. You can remove ac compressor and get a short belt bypass it that way. Same belt routing minus the ac. I just did my 2004 Ford Taurus used a 8206k belt. was a lil hard to get on or maybe I'm a wimp.AnswerGo to www.dormanproducts.com and look up an A/C bypass pulley for your vehicle. Then go to www.rockauto.com to buy it.
If the fan outside is not running the compressor will overheat and if the fan inside the house is not running the compressor will get liquid refrigerant back to it and lock up! Neither is good for the compressor.
It would probably hurt more than it would burn.
The compressor will stay running only because there is a leak in the air system somewhere and the compressor is trying to play catch up.It will burn out if left to run continuously ...
yes it can but only with a broken Bunsen burner
Blisters should not be broken.
Actually I know of the indicator light which you speak Mine has just started to flash compressor not coming on I do believe that it is just low freon. will let you know more when I have mine tested. There is not a a/c light on a 1991 chevy. Perhaps it's your alternator light? If the compressor is locked up it will more than likely burn your belt off.
Put socket wrench on serpentine belt tensioner and pull toward front of car and loosen belt. Make sure before you do this to have a drawing of the route of the belt over all its paths. Undo negative cable on battery. Remove bolts that hold alternator and remove. Undo nuts that hold wiring. Take new alternator and replace wires as removed with nuts. Place alternator back in bracket and replace bolts. Route serpentine belt and pull tensioner toward front and slip belt back on. Wear mechanic gloves to save skin. Make sure your battery has full charge as you don't want to burn up your replacement by making it work too hard. Very important!!!!
Oiling the a/c clutch will cause the clutch to slip and burn up........
Check your compressor for the air ride, when the compressor goes bad it can burn out your alt
