Will a check engine light on a car stay on for awhile after a new engine is put in a car to replace an old one?
In most cases the check engine light will come on after you put a new engine in it, it can come on for various reasons, In my case my check engine light came on because my oxygen sensor was reading the fumes from my exhaust in which came from my last engine. eventually iit will turn off but its good to get a diagnostic to be sure that they wouldn't have to replace your sensor
What is the problem with a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu that has a new fuel pump and still will not start after it has been driven awhile?
How do you replace the check engine light bulb in the dashboard on a 1994 Toyota Camry you know the bulb needs to be replaced and its not a fuse bc all the other ones work just the check engine light?
Replacing the battery should not have triggered the check engine light. The check engine light comes on when there is a problem with the emission system. Saying that, I would drive it for a while to see if the light does go out. If the light does not go out have the ECU scanned to retrieve the trouble code. Then use this code to diagnose the problem.
I have a 1995 Nissan and my check engine light comes on and my speedometer works some of the time. How can I fix this?
Thermostat gauge reads 160 degrees on a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 and check engine came on running at 50 mph?
This is too cool if the engine had been running for awhile. Thermostat is stuck open which causes the system to stay in closed loop, thus setting the check engine light. Drain and flush the radiator, and replace the thermostat. You may have the have the Check Engine Light reset with an OBD2 scan tool. Ask an auto parts store to reset it after selling you the thermostat and antifreeze for the repair.
