Will a hole in the top of the radiator well cause a 1986 camaro to over heat?
Yes. This will cause the water to leak out under pressure and cause overheating. A hole like this should be repaired before driving too far in this vehicle.
What can cause a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro V6 to over heat... I Replaced the water pump thermostats and hoses?
Can a faulty coolant sensor on a 99 Camaro 3.8 cause the heat gauge to max out as soon as the car is started and also cause the onboard computer to cut engine power like its only running on 3 or 4 cyl?
The hot water is in contact with the metal casing of the radiator, so that metal radiator takes some heat from the water. The heat then passes from the inside metal of radiator to the outside metal of the radiator through convection. The outside metal of the radiator then passes it to the air that is blowing by it outside.
EXTREMELY !!! The radiator is the heat exchanger for the engine. The coolant absorbs heat caused by combustion and is circulated to the radiator by the water pump. The core of the radiator allows the cooling fan and normal air movement while driving, to pass over the fins of the radiator core. This cools the temperature of the coolant before it returns to the engine. Excessive heat in the engine can cause oil breakdown and…
The cooling system on a car has to be pressurized, which a bad radiator cap fails to produce. It can cause overheating, therefore resulting in engine damage (i.e. blown head gasket) if left for too long and it can also cause the system to not heat to the correct temp at all. Obviously, the other effect is leakage.
Latent heat has the ability to do something in a given time period. Take a water heated radiator, latent heat has the ability to make the radiator warm or hot according to the temprature of the water. It will continue to do this until the water stops flowing through the radiator and the radiator begins to cool.
