No, this will not happen. There are only a few, firmly defined, instances where the mother cat's instincts tell her to abandon or drive away her own kittens.

How a mother cat treats her kittens is a function of what stage her hormones are in following the birth, combined with her environmental cues. If there are conditions of stress. the mother will drive away her kittens as they grow, so they can establish their own hunting territories.

If there is something wrong with one of the kittens, the mother will abandon them so a doomed kitten will not use up resources that will not help them.

Why would your cat kill and eat her kittens when they were about 2 weeks?

Some mother cats do this for many reasons, sometimes it's because the kittens are ill/deformed... or if someone has been handling the kittens and then the mother can smell their scent on them In both cases it is natural instinct. If the mother cat smells quite different scent in her kittens, she may think kill them for protection. If the kittens are ill/deformed, she also eats them before they die and bring diseases to the rest of kittens. Also dying kittens or dead kitten corpse marks the smell for the predators to notice where she lives.

Can you give your kittens skin milk?

If it is very young and is still nursing then PLEASE DONT DO IT. The kittens will want to drink that instead and stop nursing from their mother, therefore dying from lackof nutrients. If the mother is dead, then buy a substitute. If the kittens have stopped nursing, I still wouldn't let them drink it until they are three months old because it is hard for them to digest it at such a young age. Hope this helps:)

Why are my cats newborn kittens dying?

your cat may have a disease. or is just unable to carry kittens. either that or the father might have a disease. a disease that makes them unable to have kittens. you should take your cat to the vet to see why.

Your mother is abusing your dying father what can you do?

Call the police. Get a restraining order. THAT SHOULD NOT be tolerated. It could lead to something worse.

What does it mean when your cat eats a kitten?

It sounds like domination or battle for the fittest. If the cat is not the kittens mother this is natural. If the kitten is not protected by its mother the kitten is at risk to being killed until it grows older to protect itself. Obviously, the genetics of the mother wasn't fit enough to stay with and protect its offspring. Psychologically, your cat may see the kitten as a threat to its own existence when it grows older. Or maybe your cat was just hungry XD Addendum to above answer: It could also be that the kitten was sickly and posed a threat to the rest of the kittens. Sometimes mother cats will eat a sickly kitten who has died in order to protect the rest of the kittens from dying of the same illness.

What do you do if a cat wont take care of a just born dying kitten?

The mother cat has identified a health problem with this ill kitten and has decided to devote her energies to those kittens that have a better chance of survival . You can try to keep the ill kitten warm and feed the kitten with milk designed for kittens . Your veterinarian will have much better advice to give - call your vet . =^,,^=
