The iphone must be unlocked, then you can use the phone on t mobile.
Search how to unlock the iphone. You could break the phone if not done correctly,
so I am not telling you too do it, just letting you know there is a way.

∙ 12y agoyes....but u have to jailbreak and unlock it...read up on jailbreaking while preserving baseband with redsnow, (as long as u havent updated to an unsupported baseband already), and unlocking for tmobile through an app in the new cydia/app store...cant remember what its called right now....the process is fairly simple as long as u can follow directions...im on Tmobile using iPhone 3GS 5.0.1 now....good luck.

no, you dont. you can jailbreak your iphone and run it on tmobile's network, if you have a tmobile sim card. but on tmobile, you cant have 3g speeds, only 2g.
