The answer to this question has a yes and no part. Will it show up as methamphetamine? No. But if you're being tested for amphetamines, the answer is YES, you will fail. And most common urine drug tests DO test for amphetamines. So unless you have a prescription for any kind of amphetamines, you're SOL.

The metabolites are totally different. Although identical in some aspects, the urine tests themselves search for the different metabolites each produces.
Amphetamines are NOT identical to methamphetamines to a urine test.
The urine tests are different as amphets are prescribed fairly frequently whereas methamphetamines are not.
Very different metabolites are produced in the human body from each.

Unfortunately, they can't distinguish what type of amphetamine and normally assume the worst; just remember if you fail for amphetamine that means you fail for all drugs classified as amphetamines. Also amphetamines will only show up in urine for 2-4 days! Large quantities of Vitamin C and other acidic nutrients will help cut down this time.

Adderall XR is a slow release form of the drug. Regular adderall takes 10 hours for it to reach it's half life. Adderall XR has two different kinds of beads of the drug in the capsul, one being regular adderall and the other taking longer to absorb. The half life of adderall XR is at the least 10 hours....at the very least. And yes, it shows up on a drug test as an amphetamine. If it came up on a drug test it would be in the same category as meth. Hense the latter part of that word, "meth," - amphetamine! It's legal speed just like methadone is legal herion, essentially. Also another thing to think about....if the half life of a drug is longer than about 12 hours, and you take that drug every day, it builds up in your sytem and will take longer to get out of your system. Because if you take it and is hasn't reached it's half life in your body your just adding to the build up of that drug in your system, therefore increasing the half life.

It looks really bad to be positive for adderall or another words amphetamine. That is the same category as meth!!!! If you don't have a prescription for it, I would highly advise to quit taking it and get a cleansing solution from GNC. My friend does that everytime he needs to drop and he hasn't failed yet.
