No it does not, it just kills the acne causing bacteria.and also stops the swelling of big red pimples.
In the USA, you're going to find that if something requires a prescription in one place, it pretty much requires a prescription everywhere. Do what you want to, but personally, I wouldn't put anything on my skin that had a label saying it's a "tropical" lotion.

Yes it can be used in conjunction with retina a. I have acne that become as big as a mosquito bite. I have tried to hide it by using a bandage. I have had enough of having two white headed pimples. Therefore I went to a dermatologist. I told him I was using Rein A and he suggested that I use Clindamycin at bed time along with the retin a. Directions that were given to me were use the retin a as directed by applying a small amount onto face avoiding the eye areas. Then apply a small amount of the Clindamycin on top. I have used these for a month and have not had any large breakouts that I use to have.
No problem, if it looks Ok and smells as it should there is nothing to worry about.
