You need oil in the compressor just as you need oil in your engine. If there is no oil, it will lock up and seize internally. yes it can cause damage to the bearings in the compressor. The unit has oil in it to lube
You will need more than the AC Compressor for this. The refrigerant is different. You will need all the components to go with the newer version Compressor.
Refrigerant leak? Blown fuse? Compressor not starting
You need to be certified to purge the system. Taking the compressor off is simple but you have to remove the refrigerant first. WA can't tell you to do illegal things so I can't tell you to disconnect the lines after you have vented the refrigerant to atmosphere. I can tell you to be sure to wear safety glasses when you do it because it can frostbite your eyeballs.
Most likely the compressor. It could also be the valve in the system too, when refrigerant gets low. What sort of noise is it???
The 2006 Honda Infinity compressor fuse is located under the hood.
R134a
Some possibilities: (1) The internal cabin temperature sensor may be bad. (2) The relay that controls the A/C compressor is bad. (3) The A/C refrigerant needs re-charging (if there is not enough in the system the compressor will not turn on, in order to prevent itself from burning out).
Check pressure cutout switch on low line line (smaller of the two a.c. lines).
It would have to be removed from the dash and opened up in order to lubricate it. It is lubricated for life.
Where is the AC compressor fuze located on the 2002 honda civic lx?
2002 Honda Odyssey uses refigerant type r134a.
I just called my local Honda Dealer and the parts person has told me that 2001 Honda Accord A/C system requires 21-23 oz of refrigerant (R132A). Kind regards.
