Will replacing a deck that is in bad repair increase the value of the home?
==Yes, but . . . == Yes, but the question is By how much? There
is no doubt that an old, worn deck detracts from the "showablity"
and resale value of a house, but will you recoup your investment?
It's hard to say. Real estate agents tell you that new kitchens and
baths (and sometimes new windows) pay for themselves and then some.
Not sure about the deck, tho. * The homeowner may have to repair
the deck before the house can be sold regardless, as most
municipalities require a structure of any type to be up to code
before it can be sold.
