Door interchange:
CJ7 and YJ doors are interchangeable. When you get into the pre 1981 style CJ7 door-the latches are different and must be changed (recessed paddle verses exterior latch). They did not make a wrangler in 1996. 97-2006 doors have the latch in a different location and different latch post type. The doors are physically the same size but the hardware is in different locations. The is true for both full and upper soft doors. The doors could be made to work with relocation of hardware but in my opinion not worth the hassle
