No. Spiders don't do that. Check the site listed in links for more details. This one's a hoax and an urban legend that's been around for a very long time.

Instead, you were bitten by a spider -- nothing more or less. Depending on the type of spider and your reaction to it, this may be nothing important, or something that requires medical attention.

First -- in the future, you might call the Poison Control number. Poison Control is open 24/7/365, is non-profit, and tremendously accurate. The number is:

800-222-1222

Now -- on to treatment and first aid for spiders:

For minor bites as yours sounds like, Ice Pack it, take a mild painkiller, and don't scratch it if it itches. I'll post a reference question here when I go a little further with a page on Spider Bite REmedies.

Adult paper wasps either drink nectar or catch caterpillars and drink the caterpillar's blood, or hemolymph. Then the adult wasp flies back to the nest and regurgitates (throws up) the nectar or blood into the mouths of young (larval) wasps or other adult wasps. After the young wasps are full, they produce a saliva (or spit) which is fifty times more nutritious than nectar. The adult wasps drink this saliva from the mouths of the young wasps.

some wasps eat stuff that bees eat like pollen and nectar People also think that bees and wasps are exactly the same but they are not. However they are alike ;-)

Probably not. A wasp uses its stinger for 2 functions. - to immobilise or kill prey for its lunch - as a weapon of defense Wasps really have no need to sting one another, however, nothing is impossible, but in this case it is unlikely.

No creature can live forever. Wasps are of several different species, social structures, and roles. Worker wasps either predatory single wasps or social waspsy live no more than a month or two, queens may last a year in wasp colonies.

Wasps for the most part, only mate once per year. This usually occurs in the first part of winter. After mating the female will bury herself in the ground and hibernate until spring.

No. They have a smooth sting and can withdraw it after use. They can also sting more than once.
