My experience with Wellbutrin was yes, it helped me lose weight that I had gained on other anti-depressants. I had been taking EFFEXOR for a long time and kept gaining weight. I was switched to Celexa and told that it shouldn't make me gain weight. I continued to gain weight on the Celexa. I also had sexual side effects. The doctor switched me to Wellbutrin. I had gained 20 lbs. since starting SSRI's. Once I stopped taking those and switched to Wellbutrin, I lost 10 lbs. easily. The other 10 I had to work at to take off, but it came off! On the SSRI's it seemed like no matter what I did to lose weight it wouldn't work. Hope this helps!
it depends on each person. Everyone's body is different and has a different chemistry. I personally can attest that I stayed on it for a short term (3 months) and was not able to lose the weight. The same went for Lexapro. When I took lexapro, I gained 20 lbs and to this day have never been able to lose it. However, I have a thyroid condition so it is extremely hard for me to lose weight. Good luck.
My wife took both - Zoloft first for about a year, then added the Wellbutrin. It did not help with the weight gain, but it did help with her sex drive. She LOVES the Wellbutrin. She takes 300mg in the morning and 150mg in the evening. The extra 150 has a major impact on her recovery with bulimia. She has recently been able to go off of both her Zoloft and the Adderall she was taking. They were putting her into a fog and desensitizing her emotions and reactions. She went cold turkey off the Zoloft, adding a supplement called 5htp instead. This works on serotonin, just like Zoloft. From what I've see and read, Zoloft's benefits do NOT outweigh the benefits. Just my opinion for what it's worth.....
Celexa is for the treatment of depression.
You take that question to a consult to a doctor.
ZOLOFT. I've been taking Zoloft for 7 months now with no weight gain.
Fluoxitine (Prosac) Citalopram im not sure about any other but i knw about these because im currently on prosac and i havnt gained any weight and my mum is on citalopram and neither has she gained any weight. hope i helped :) x btw you should consult your doctor before taking ANY anti-depressants x
I am not sure what you are asking.Wellbutrin is an anti-depressant.It does speed your metabolism up but I am not sure about what it may do for weight gain.I do know not to take wellbutrin too close to bed time or you won't sleep.Better to take around 4 pm than bedtime.
No, I've been taking it for a few years and I haven't gained any weight from it.
the most common addictives with taking seroquel and zoloft are eating binges.that are like sugar rush pills basically they cause the body to crave food there horrible pills for someone over weight or that has a eating disorder.
I might say that exercise is only the best way to prevent weight gain. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant used to treat a variety of conditions, including depression, other mental/mood disorders, and smoking cessation. Despite taking such medicine, I suggest you follow a proper Nutrition Rich Meal to lose weight and develop a daily workout routine in order to get your desired body.
If you gained any weight while on the pill, once you stop taking it you will most likely lose the same amount you gained, due to the hormones that are increased, when taking the pill. However, this can depend on your diet, as well as the type of birth control you are taking.
If I stop taken Wellbutrin XL will I keep loseing weight. I lost 38 pounds alread
Yes. Within minutes.
You can, but they can interact with the same enzyme in the liver, so typically, we will start the Strattera at a lower dose than someone who is not on Zoloft (or any of the other SSRIs). Hope this helps! Dr. B.
It doesn't ! I've been taking anti-depressants for about 8 years and I haven't gained any weight !
eat smart. don't overeat. get up and move. if you're an invalid it will make it difficult but it can be done.
