While the idea for a fourth movie to the original series was scrapped due to Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire leaving the set- a reboot with a new director and cast was filmed titled as "The Amazing Spider-Man" which is coming to theaters on July 3, 2012.

∙ 13y agoOne was going to be filmed and ready for release on May 6, 2011- but it got scrapped and now a reboot is planned which is supposed to be released on July 3, 2012. A new actor is currently being decided for the new series.

∙ 11y agoThe fourth movie was cancelled when Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire were reported both walking off the set before filming even got started. Sony then decided to reboot the series and had Marc Webb & Andrew Garfield both take over the positions for the new film which was titled "The Amazing Spider-Man". It is the first one of a second series and sequels are being planned.
