The next Batman film will be called "The Dark Knight Rises" which is set for release on July 20, 2012. Christopher Nolan is returning to direct and Christian Bale is returning to play Bruce Wayne. Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway are joining the cast each to play the villains- Bane and the Catwoman. This movie will be the third and final one in the series.

∙ 11y agoAfter the end of the Dark Knight Rises it is presumed that Bruce Wayne was killed flying the nuclear bomb into the outskirts of Gotham city, away from any possible civilization that could have been harmed by the explosion. However, this is not the case. Christopher Nolan simply stated that this was the end of the Dark Knight trilogy, not the end of Batman films or anything to do with them. The reason for this is that the city of Gotham thinks that Batman only had to fly the bomb to an uninhibited area himself was because the auto-pilot on his aircraft known as the BAT was broken, but at the very end of the film it hints that Bruce Wayne fixed the auto-pilot himself, allowing his escape just before the bomb exploded. It also hints that the rookie cop by the name of John Blake's real first name is Robin and shows him discovering the Bat Cave. As for my thoughts on this......Well that's another story x3 Anyways the end of the Dark Knight Rises is a dead give away to another film or possibly even an entire new franchise, but for now all we can do is wait for some kind of sign for the return of the Dark Knight..........

∙ 11y agoNo there isn't a next Batman. The Dark Knight Rises was the end of the Trilogy. If someone does decide to pick up where that one left off I can almost certainly guarantee that neither Christopher Nolan nor Christian Bale will have anything to do with it.

Unfortunatley, no. The next Batman is going to be directed by Tim Burton. The villains will be the Riddler and Catwoman as played by Burton's two favorite actors. <- This is wrong, the next movie will be directed by Christopher Nolan. The Riddler is not going to be in it but Catwoman will be. The pics on google are incorrect and are just fan art. Can't wait!!

There's rumor that he's being considered, although there's also rumor that Johnny Depp will be fulfilling the role. Nothing has been confirmed yet, I think that David Tennant has a better chance of getting the role because he has already expressed interest and Johnny Depp hasn't even heard of it until now. Recently Posters of David Tennant as the Riddler have cropped up alongside posters of Harley Quinn and Catwoman. The 'posters' are fan-made images posted online, photoshopped publicity images from Doctor Who. DT said in a TV interview it was a false rumour. It's also been confirmed the Riddler isn't appearing in the next Batman film.
