Will you go to hell if you perform witch craft or black magic?

* In response to your answer: We pagans/wiccans give ourselves over to the lord more then any other religion, we just don't call god Jesus (which is a contradiction in itself because if God/Lord sent Jesus how can Jesus be the Lord/God and Savior?) Secondly where in the Bible does it say Witchcraft is not allowed? Since most of the teachings in the Bible were stolen from us Centuries ago (along with our holidays, our symbolizes and etc.). We do all that except we don't believe Jesus is Lord. Hell is a concept created by the Christian religion to scare it's followers into being good. Hell was invented by Christians to scare the people they had forced into their new religion. They tore down pagan "churches" and built their Christian churches over the rubble in the hopes that pagans would continue to come to services at the same sites. Most, if not all, Christian denominations would answer yes, if unrepentant. Depends on your religion .

I am a Christian, so i see it like this: witch craft is from the devil. he is the one that gives you the powers and so you are excepting him and expecting him to help you. ~Rae

Look i don't want to pick a fight . From a wiccan / witch point of view it would be a no because the devil doesnt exist. The power isn't Sabrina the teenage witch style it is about moving energy and herbal remidys. Anyone could do it. Infact the have . Hense why we now have asperin . The devil is a christian creation . The power is collective . Just as you celebrate Christmas we celebrate yule . In the wiccan law it states in the god of all harm ye none . Nothing to do with the devil . Its basic princible that all roads lead to the same mountain. So every religion is right . I think this question is down to perception. ~ F.F ~

In Galatians Chapter 5 a book of the New Testament verse 19 to 21 it says. 19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, depravity, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions,factions, 21 envying, murder, drunkenness, carousing, and similar things. I am warning you, as I had warned you before: Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God!
Nice warning in Galatians but there are few human beings who have not "practiced" at least 10 of those listed and do so weekly. However Paul in writing galatians does not mean you must do all of these things to be kicked out of heaven, he means if you practice one, all or some, unless you repent (Stop doing and turn away from sin, to God) you cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. EG Heaven.

A question such as this will generate several different views. Two of them are shown here and perhaps more will be added in the future.

One person's view.

As most practitioners of magic do not believe in the Abrahamic concept of hell it is totally impossible for them to go there.

And just to clear a few things up.

The Craft of the Witch, the Craft, or Witchcraft involves much more than the performing of magic and/or spells. It is usually, but not exclusively, part of a spiritual path that is: earth based; respectful of all other spiritual paths (agreed with or not); polytheistic; environmentally conscientious; very personal; inclusive; positive; and in the most part non-proselytizing.

Magic is simply put: the manipulation of naturally occurring powers by the hand and will of an ethical practitioner.

Magic has no polarity, it is neither good/white, bad/black or indifferent/gray. It is that manner in which one draws, directs and uses the magic that gives it a perceived polarity.

A second viewpoint. yes, witchcraft and black magic comes straight from satan, he offer us power without any responsibility, but through this he uses and eventually destroys us someone who practices it will go to hell, wether they believe in hell or not, but there's good news, those who give up witchcraft and/or black magic and ask God for forgiveness are saved from the pit of hell.

The Bible does warn against practicing witchcraft, but it is not up to people to decide how God will judge. There were times in the Bible that God was very angry, and then showed mercy. We just have to do our best to do as we were instructed ourselves.
