Windows xp does not have native support for SATA interface (except SP3). You have to download SATA interface driver from the motherboard/computer website and use F6 installation procedure.

How can I format Windows Vista?

If you have the windows install disc, you can insert it, restart your computer and press any key when it tells you to. This will boot from the DVD and enter the Windows Setup. From there, it will show you a list of partitions on your hard drive before you install windows. Choose the partition on which Vista is installed and click "Delete" under advanced options. The partition will be formatted. If you want to install a fresh copy of Windows Vista, you can do so now. If not, exit windows setup and install whatever OS you want to use. (Make sure you BACK UP your files before formatting - once you format the partition, you can NEVER get the files back.)

Can you put a windows xp hard drive in a windows 98 computer and recover the files on the xp hard drive?

You'll need special software, probably, to read the NTFS partition of a standard XP install, unless it was not formatted prior to install, and happened to be FAT32. Google it! There's even NTFS for DOS!

How can you unistall unfinished windows installation?

You'll probably have to reinsert the "Windows XP SP_ Installation Disc" and restart the installation again, and redo the events you did the last installation, until the Partitions screen occurs/appears (In Windows XP Installation Process), and select the Partition on which you previously chose to install Windows, and the select it to be formatted using NTFS file system as you did in the last setup. This will cause the partition to be formatted with NTFS file system and make it an empty, useful partition ready to allow Windows Installation to continue on it. Later in GUI Installation, you install Windows XP as usual until the final step. Now, your Windows XP is fine, new, fast and clean Installed Windows Operating System....

Why does my external hard drive work in Linux but not in Windows?

The most likely reason is that the drive was formatted with a Linux file system. Reformatting the drive to NTFS or FAT32 will make the drive usable in Windows. You could also install an ext4 driver in Windows to access the drive without reformatting it.

How do you get windows live messanger with coloured names?

You can get coloured and formatted names using "Messenger Plus", which is an extention to Windows Live Messenger. It is not made by Microsoft. You can download it from the link below, but when your installing it, it asks if you wish to install their "sponsor" programme. I would advise that you do not install this sponsor, as it is spyware. Apart from that, it is completely safe and free to use.www.msgplus.net
