Would loose spark plugs result in trouble starting the car?
Loose spark plugs would result in a loss of compression. This would make starting difficult and if the engine ran at all it would do so badly.
Answering this question would require us to know the symptoms, as there are a number of reasons that could be listed without anything to narrow it down. Loose ground, loose hot wire, bad battery, bad starter, poor air flow, lack of spark, lack of compression, ECM issue, misadjusted timing... all of these things are possile.
If you look at the periodic table, the elements on the far left column starting with H or hydrogen will loose 1 electron, the next column starting with Be will loose 2 electrons. now the rectangle in the middle (Transition metals) are a different case.
