I have a 2004 Outback. The warranty book says that the front and rear converters are covered up to 8 years or 80000 miles. Which ever comes first.

I know that most(all?) Chrysler vehicles have a 8/80 Federal emission warranty on them when new that covers things like the catalytic converter. As for other brands I do not know. Your best bet would be to call your local dealer or the 1-800 phone number from you owners manual for the customer help line and ask.I know that most(all?) Toyota has released a TSB on this . You have to take it to Toyota and have the catalytic converter replaced and the ECM reflashed. And if you have over 80000 miles on it, you also have to pay for it.
