Discharge is a liquid coming from your vagina. It's what cleans the inside and have to be there. When you are closer to get your period it can be a bit colored and turn a bit brown by blood. I know it might be a bit embarrassing but your mom know s all about this. She has vaginal discharge too and menstruates. She can help you prepare with pads so you always have something with you just in case. It's not uncommon girls get their period around the same age their moms did so ask her when she got hers.

∙ 14y agoChances are this is an early sign of the onset of menstruation. In other words, your first period will come soon (within a few days, weeks, or months, depending on how dark the discharge is).
