It depends on where you're from.
For most countries you're allowed to stay for up to 90 days without a visa.

However, if you want to pass the border into the rest of Mainland China (except Macau), you will need a visa!

∙ 15y agoFrench citizens are entitled to 90 days visa free entry to Hong Kong as long as their passport has 6 month validity and they are coming for tourism/business purposes (they MUST not work/study etc). Go to www.immd.gov.hk for further information.
