The check engine light is there to tell you when the computer has stored a diagnostic code. Use a code scanner to read the code and find out what's wrong. We have a 94 and 96Aspire. The check engine light stays on most of the time. At inspection time, we take it to our mechanic and they use a computer to turn the light off. It seems to be a defect in many Ford Aspires, as our mechanic says nothing is wrong with either car. We are constantly driving them.
how do you change the engine oil and oil filter on a 96 ford aspire
With engine oil filter change , the ( 1996 Ford Aspire ) takes ( 3.6 quarts )
I found the oil filter bottom part of the engine in the front, it looks like a small cylinder.
On the side of the engine, right above the drain pan.
On a (1996 ) Ford Aspire , 1.3 liter four cylinder engine : With engine oil filter change : ( 3.6 U.S. quarts , 5W-30 is PREFERRED according to the Owner Guide )
3.6 quarts ( 3.4 liters ) with engine oil filter change , according to the 1996 Ford Aspire Owner Guide for your 1.3 liter engine
Fuel filter is located in the engine compartment, driver's side between battery and firewall. Follow the fuel lines.
Looking at the engine from under the car, on the right side mid way up the engine block you will see the filter. It is a pain to change it because you will get about a quart of oil down your arm.
With engine oil filter change ( 3.6 quarts ) according to the Owner Guide
I believe that is 3.4 to 3.6 quarts , with engine oil filter change
If you mean that you changed oil , then RAN THE ENGINE with the old oil filter installed , then changed the oil filter , you just mixed the dirty oil in the old engine oil filter with the new oil that was just put in . So , not the best thing to do
According to the 1996 Ford Aspire Owner Guide : ( 5W-30 is the PREFERRED oil ) Also , with engine oil filter change , the 1.3 liter four cylinder engine takes 3.6 U.S. quarts
I know that on a 1995 it is located in the rear driver's side of the engine compartment. Although if you just follow the fuel line (it should have a flow arrow on it) from the engine block out it will run into the fuel filter.

Depends on engine size, but the average is about 5 quarts when the oil filter is changed.
located on right side of engine when looking from front side, by windshield. this one right first answer sucks
Maybe "mileage" isn't a proper determinant for whether the air filter needs to be changed?
It is likely that the crankcase was much too oil. It is likely that the engine would have been damaged if the oil had not be changed.
No. The cabin air filter is located on the passengers side in the engine compartment under the cowl, four screws and pull out the cover reveals the filter. This filter cleans the air entering the inside of the car. The engine air filter is located in the engine compartment on the right side and filters air for the engine only. Both are easily changed.
Sounds like oil filter is the least of your problems
Yes , although you will have to top up the engine oil level ( or prefill the new engine oil filter ) * assuming you haven't put the required amount of oil in the engine already *
