Although a previous answer said, "I had the same problem with a 2002 corvette. I replaced the battery and never had the problem again," I would suggest that you have your mechanic check the crank and cam shaft sensors to make sure they aren't corroding. My 2001 Metro LSI was doing the same thing, and it turned out to be the cam shaft sensor. Replacing it wasn't that big a deal, however, the long time corrosion of the sensor also caused the car's main computer to short out -- and replacing that was a big deal.
