A little over 8 minutes

The speed of light is 299,792,458 m/s (we'll use 3x10^8 m/s)

The average distance from the Earth to the Sun is 149.6x10^9 m

time = distance/velocity

t ≈ (149.6x10^9 m)/(3x10^8 m/s)

t ≈ 498.667 s

minutes = 498.667 s/60

t ≈ 8.3 minutes

The Earth orbits the Sun at a distance of about 93 million miles. The orbit is elliptical (a little oval-shaped) so it is sometimes a bit closer and sometimes a bit further away, but 93 million is a mean figure.

Heat, in the form of infrared radiation is electromagnetic radiation just as light it and takes the same amount of time to reach earth from the sun. It takes 8.3 minutes for the sun's heat and light to reach the earth.

We know that light travels at a constant (fastest speed) 186,000 Miles/s or appx 300,000km/s

If we know the distance of an object we can figure out how long it takes to drive that distance with speeds. In this case we are using speed of light.

This is a break down of the speed of light over know distance of the sun.

To reach the sun at light speed which is 1AU away appx 92-94 million miles away light travels at 186,000 miles a second.

186,000*60=11,160,000 miles a minute

92,000,000/11,160,000=8.2437 min

94,000,000/11,160,000=8.4229 min

8.2437+8.4229=16.6666/2=8.33 min is the mean time for light to reach the sun from earth or earth to the sun.

A very long time. It could theoretically take forever, since it's basically a random walk problem. To a first approximation, this is a O(N2) problem.

Same . . . 8.3 minutes.
Heat and light (and radio and ultraviolet light and X-rays) are the same thing ...
electromagnetic radiation.
The only difference is their wavelengths.

What percentage of the energy radiated by the the sun reaches the earths surface?

The energy is radiated equally in all directions into a sphere with a radius of 150 million kilometres, which has a surface area. On that sphere sits the Earth with a radius of 6378 kilometres, which has a circular cross-section area which intercepts part of the total energy. The ratio of the two areas answers the question.

What percentage of the energy radiated by the sun reaches earthes surface?

Of the Sun's energy reaching Earth's atmosphere, just under 60% reaches the Earth's surface. Only a small fraction of the Sun's energy reaches Earth, of course. In fact it's only about 0.000000045 percent. So, the answer to the question is: about 0.000000025 percent.

Is it true when heated Earths surface radiates some of the energy back into the atmosphere as infrared radiation?

Yes, of course. Basically, all the energy (or almost all of it) that the Earth absorbs from the Sun must be radiated back into space at some moment.

When the solar energy reaches the earth where does it go?

Some gets absorbed and converted into other energy forms. Most of the energy will eventually get radiated back into space.
