You own a 1990 Honda Accord DX The auto parts man said if you put on a cold air intake it would suck up hot air due to engine temperature Would this affect your horsepower or not?

A cold air intake would take in all surrounding air and it would increase your horsepower a certain amount. The warm air it takes in would not affect it much.
