1. Alternator charging system malfunction.. [not charging enough]
There is a charging system malfunction.
Your battery is charging. Gateways have three color lights: blue, purple, and red. Red means a battery or charger malfunction. Purple means charging and blue is that you are on external power or your battery is fully charged.
The alternator is not charging or not charging enough.
Malfunction in the charging system. Most obvious cause is a defective alternator.
Malfunction in the charging system. Could be bad battery, defective alternator, loose belt, corroded cable.
Alternator Belt has snapped, causing you alternator to stop charging causing you battery light to come on, but this belt also runs your power steering pump which if that's not working your steering will become heavy
The battery light on usally means that the alternator is not charging. Take to local Autozone and they can check it for free.

charging system not charging battery with new batttery, alternator and fuel pump. what will make that happen ?
when serpentine belt comes off, you will loose power steering, the alternator will stop charging the battery and the water pump will stop circulating coolant so you will have a flat battery in an overheated engine and very little steering capability
Usually your computer doesn't start or you can see it wherever the battery charging icon if the battery is charging or not.
