Ah yes ethics...Well ask yourself if it was ethical of the boss being conscious of her position, sleeping with your b.f??
I suppose its not ethical because the recommendation maybe contaminated with her personal feelings towards him but this also happens in most places. It is also possible that she simply gives the recommendation based solely on his work and skills. So it all depends on the recommendation itself.
