Your car keeps running hot so I change the radiator and it still runs hot. What else could it be?
Coolant may not be moving through the system fast enough. Possibly a bad pump or a clog somewhere.
Your 1993 Dodge Intrepid keeps over heating you have already changed the thermostat thermostat housing upper radiator hose radiator and pressure cap what is left to change?
antifreeze does two things. It keeps the water in the radiator from freezing in the winter, and helps prevent if from boiling over and evaporating in the summer. You can run your vehicle with water alone in moderate temperatures and it will do the job. But, if you mean by "running out of antifreeze" you mean there is no liquid in the radiator, then yes, your vehicle can overheat and ruin the engine.
No matter what kind of vehicle you own, it will benefit from an annual radiator flush. A radiator is your car's cooling system. Radiators hold water and a specially designed coolant, antifreeze. As the heart of cooling systems, they keep engines from overheating and engine blocks from warping, cracking or seizing with heat. If your radiator is clogged with rust, sediment or debris that occur naturally in a cooling system, it can't do an effective…
The fan is electric and is controlled by a thermoswitch in the radiator. When you turn the engine off the fan keeps running to prevent boilover until the coolant in the radiator cools off. Then it should switch off automatically. If it does not either the radiator thermoswitch or the fan motor relay is stuck "ON." Rarely it could be a wiring problem but this is not likely. Whichever unit is bad has to be…
What year and make of car? My 1997 Honda Accord's radiator fan kept running after it was shut down. Upon inspection of my system I had low coolant and no pressure. Replaced the radiator and have not had an issue since. Check and top off your coolant, if it continues then I have no clue as to the problem.
1994 buick park avenue ultra the radiator cooling fans keep running with engine off is there a relay or fuse if there is please tell me their location thanks tony?
That could be normal operation. The fan is controlled by a thermal switch. That keeps it from boiling over if the radiator is hot after the key is turned off. If it shuts off after it cools down, I wouldn't worry about it. There is a caution note on the radiator that says the fan can start up at any time.
What could be wrong with my 95 Dodge Spirit the thermostat gauge keeps going to hot and my check gauges light flashes What could this be you have had your timing replaced and your cam shaft?
Why does your 1997 Dodge Caravan radiator fan keeps running and only turn off when the fuse is removed?
Why is your 1996 cadillac sedan deville keeps running hot when you sit in traffic or if you drive for a long period of time then stop what could it be?
2000 vw jetta where is the radiator located what about filling the power steering this is the first vw and could not find where these are located at first glance?
My 1990 Chevy astro van temperature gauge keeps going from hot then almost back down to the bottom while the radiator is full and i don't understand why.?
My 1996 astro is having the same problems...we've replaced the water pump and have flushed the radiator, and changed the thermostat...but it keeps telling me its running hot. My dad seems to think its a leaking hose, and that the van requires a vaccuum to deliver the fluids. You might want to check any of those things...but I dont know if it will help, I'm in the same boat you are. Change your coolant temp…
you should change your engine oil in any car when, A. you have driven 3,000 miles since your last oil change, or B. you have gone 3 months since your last oil change. this keeps all of the sludge and dirt out of your oil galleries and off of your bearings and journals... in english, it keeps your engine clean, improves emissions and will keep your car running longer.
I just TRIED to change mine yesterday after my Service Engine Soon light came on. Follow the top radiator hose from the radiator towards the motor, it should be right there, at least that's what I changed ... HOWEVER now my car won't run right, it keeps missing, wont stay running when I put it in gear, its twenty times worse than before I attempted this sensor... Hope this helps if you do try it…
