Very first thing you should do is give your pet hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. The more you get out of them the better. About a tablespoon should start that process. Next you need to get a hold of a Vet. No matter the hour! Rat/mouse poisoning effects the clotting of blood and your pet will bleed to death internally. Your vet will most likely have them vomit more and give them vitamin K1 treatment for multiple weeks. I am not a professional and in no way would be qualified to say you or I have better knowledge than your pets vet. Please do not wait! Your pet could die.
This may not hurt the dog. Hopefully the rat did not have any poison in it or deseases. Keep an eye on the dog for a few hours to make sure it does not get sick.
Call your local Poison Control immediately. And next time, call an exterminator.
if your sure he didn't swallow it make him vomit and give him a dose of victim k. if that doesn't help that him to the vet.
That is a very dangerous situation first of all eating a at is not safe for a dog it can make them severally sick from all the diseases it might have before hand and they can get to your dog.
Do nothing at all.
It depends on the type of poison the rat was given.
The answer is not simple; the effect depends on: - type of the poison (chemical formula) - the quantity ingested - age - another illness - the first aid etc.
Call the ASPCA poison control center immediately and consult them, Otherwise take the cat straight to the vet or pet emergency room right away...depending on a number of important factors, that poison is probably in there system and kidney failure and death are likely if left untreated.
Rush him to the emergency vet immediately!!
If the rat had a disease and the cat eats it, the cat may indeed fall ill. However, a cat's digestive system is perfectly designed to eat raw meat and can easily handle some amount of bacteria. The rat would have to be incredibly sick for a cat to fall ill.
Get a cat or a rat snake or some poison.
Yes, I have seen a cat eat a rat all they do is eat the rat and leave the eyeballs and intestines.
No, feeding a cat poison of any type could kill the cat. This would fall under Animal Abuse laws.
well if u keep it in the cage no but keep it somewere the cat get get near it
Rat poison is usually an anticoagulant that is it is a chemical that stops blood from coagulating. So yes it should finish off (kill) an iguana if it eats enough of it.
Take the cat to the vet immediately! Rat poison can easily kill a cat, so the chances of survival depend greatly on how quickly it is treated.
According to aspca.org, gardenias ARE toxic.
