check the fuse
The Kia Sorrento instrument panel lights go on and off with the headlights. The headlights go on with an automatic daylight sensor.
fack knows
Headlight switch.
Check the fuses and the bulbs.
Burnt out bulb.
The instruments light dim for night driving when the headlights are turned on. Check to insure that your dash dimmer switch is on high. If it is, then you have a problem with either the dimmer switch or the wiring.
Make sure the brightness knob isn't turned down too far. When the headlights are off, the instrument panel is lit by an automatic system that assumes it's daylight and gives the panel a lot of illumination. When you turn on the headlights, it changes to the system used in most cars, which depends on where you set the brightness control, which is located somewhat near the leftmost vent.
Could be a number of things, and you'll probably have to get a digital multimeter to trace the problem. It could be a problem with the headlight switch, the dimmer switch, the wiring, the lamp harness, or the fuse panel.
Faulty ground to the dash.
fuse panel is located on passenger side of the instrument panel . open front door to full open position and locate fuse panel on the lower side of the instrument panel.... near door post.... #12 blue 15 amp fuse for automatic headlamps
When i was trying to disable my DRL's (Daytime Running Lights) i pulled the fuse for them and my headlights and instrument lights were flashing intermittently. Check the fuse panel in the glove box and look for the DRL fuse. Check if its blown. Hope this helps!!!
I had a problem with my headlights going off, not the high beams. Replaced the rectangular silver can thingy at the fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side. I put a higher rated one in, which is a no no, but it solved the problem of the headlights going out.
