There is likely to be a problem with the magnetron inside the oven.
It might be repairable, but in many cases it is more cost-effective to simply buy a new microwave oven.

∙ 9y agoIf everything else is working on your microwave, like the lights, fan, timer, etc... and nothing you put inside gets hot, then you probably need a new "Klystron tube".
The Klystron tube emits microwave radio energy that makes the oven heat the water molecules in food by agitating them with the radio energy.
If you have put a cup of water in the microwave oven and put the control on hi and about 60 seconds and neither the water or the cup got hot, then the Klystron is no longer working, Like any vacuum tube, they do eventually fail.
Unfortunately, since most new microwave ovens are much less expensive than buying a new Klystron tube and having it installed, you probably need to just throw it away (or better yet: Recycle it!!) and go buy a new one.
