Is the knock sensor hooked up ? ( located behind the intake manifold, passenger side on top of the block ( it screws into the block and has a 2 wire plug on it), did you brake in the motor ? Does it only knock at the rpm you said ? Only when cold ?

If it's knocking when accelerating, the engine could be starving for the correct octane fuel ... try the mid-grade or premium fuel and see if it still occurs. Could also be that the timing belt needs to be adjusted/replaced. If the knocking sounds like metal on metal, chances are you are in for a bigger bill for a possible engine rebuild. At any rate, have it checked out by a mechanic soon.

Between David and him would be the correct grammar in this case.

User Avatar

The correct is "between you and me". An easy way to remember it is that you say "between us" and not "between we". There is a link below to a grammatical explanation of why it is so.

No, it isn't correct. Since the word between is a preposition, the pronouns that follow it have to be object pronouns -- between you and me.

"Between him and his wife" is correct. You wouldn't say "It's between they". You would say "It's between them". So the objective pronoun (him) is correct and not the subjective pronoun (he).

Nope, the pronoun 'I' is the subject pronoun; the pronoun 'me' is the object pronoun. The correct phrase is, "Just between you and me..."; because 'you and me' is the object of the preposition 'between'.

Engine oil does not cause a engine knock. It is caused by pre-ignition, which can have many causes, including the wrong grade of fuel octane. Make sure that you are choosing the correct fuel for your vehicle. You may want to take the vehicle to a mechanic, as engine knocking can seriously damage your engine.
