if you disconnect the o2 sensor cable in the air intake then start the engine you would see the check engine sign turned on in the gauge panel. It is on then the sensor is working if off the the sensor may have problems
Check for a loose or corroded ground or battery cable Check for a loose or corroded ground or battery cable
There could be many reasons.... if the other guages are working check your speedometer cable ... if the others have quit check your fuses... if all that shows good you may have to replace the instrument cluster... there are many other possible reasons but these are some good jumping off points
take a battery cable off
take off the positive cable on the bettery and turn on the key switch for 5 minuts then put battery cable back on and the check engine light should be off
Normally it is a battery/cable issue. Check the terminals(make sure they are clean). Check the grounding cable on the frame/engine. Other than that check the ignition system.
The shift cable usually doesn't break. The bushings on the shifter inside the cabin have been known to break, or the clips that hold the cable to the tranny fall off allowing the cable to come off the tranny. I would check these points first before replacing the cable.
Disconnect the negative battery cable for about a minute Disconnect the negative battery cable for a minute or so
Only if they physically go and check it out.
Unplug negative cable of battery, wait 30 sec & plug cable wite back, engine light reset ...walah!
There is no such switcher. Disconnect the negative cable from your battery.
this happened to me and I discovered online that the cruise control fuse is the same as the horn and the emergency flashers....so if those don't work either, it's the fuse! You should also check the cruise control cable. I had the problem of it slipping off when ever I stomped on the gas pedal. Also check to see if the cable is broken. I've also had that happen.
1) Check light of CPU, if it is blinking or orange -> monitor data cable is failed. 2) If light is constantly ON -> motherboard problem. 3) If light is OFF, -> power cable or socketis gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Check in the menu to see if you are on the correct OFF AIR/CATV setting and there are a few different settings for the type of cable system you are receiving.
Take the - battery cable off and put it back on.
Is it a cable or a rod? Check to see that it did not just come off. It's a rod linkage. The end of the rod that connects to the tansmission won't move. Thus the gas paddle won't go to the floor. You will have to check the adjustment on the linkage. Slack the bolt that holds the rod and see if it moves freely at the transmission up and down. If it does, then its just an adjustment at the throttle. If it does not, then you will have to have the transmission checked at the shop.
There is no speedo cable on a 96, GM quit using them in 1987. You have a speed sensor, which is located on the top rear of the transmission. It will have a couple wires coming off it in a plug, that run thru the computer, then to the speedo. If your speedo has quit working, has it also set a check engine light? If so, I would recomend replacing the speedo sensor.
Broken speed cable. probably doesn't have a cable it works off of a vehicle speed sensor. it could be bad
There is an in line fuse coming off the battery cable...check this first then check fuse panel inside car. Go to www.autozone.com, enter car info and click on repair manuals and look at the fuse locations under electrical section...good luck
disconnect positive battery cable for five minutes.
Disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes. Unless you repair the problem it will just come back on.
To check it, just turn on your xbox. If working fine, its not damaged. If it doesnt turn on, you can either get it fixed by Microsoft or just use your controller to turn on/off your console.
take the battery cable off for 15 minutes
just remove the battery cable for about 5min then put it back. that should reset the check engine light.
Did you reset the Check Engine light? If not, reset by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes. This will erase the computer. Reconnect the battery cable and if everything is OK, the Check Engine light should be off.
