You need to go get your car looked at by an auto repairman if you have a crack in your auto radiator. They can tell you if it needs replaced or just fixed.
Yes
without a cooling radiator , you can only drive a very short distance. continued driving will cause the engine to overheat, which in turn will cause the head gasket to break or worse the head to crack. you can also melt the pistons or break the connecting rods when the engine seizes due to lack of cooling.
is the new thermostat rated to manufacturers specs? if so it coul be air in your coling system causing hot spots.or it could also be low/contaminated fluid. also check the radiator for leaks just had that problem was a small crack in plastic side casing of radiator.
Thermostat-the engine will be hot but the radiator not hot. RADIATOR- It is hot on the top but not the bottom. Head gasket or crack in head or block-spark plug will be wet and or bubbles coming up in the radiator while being run with the thermostat removed(get test fluid at auto shop). Bugs or dirt in the outside of the radiator. Ignition timing is late. Engine block was bored oversize too much.
head gasket or crack block or radiator needs to be flused or hoses cluged.Really anything can make a car over heat alot to list!
AnswerWhen you replaced the headgasket, did you have the head checked? It could be warped, causing the gasket to fail, or worse it could be cracked. I've also seen the water jackets within the block crack if it overheated to many times.
You could try soldering
Yes.If you have no antifreeze in the radiator or engine, sometimes it will freeze.Usually a freeze plug in the engine will pop out before any major damage is done. Sometimes the block will crack,or the radiator will crack or burst if no anti freeze is in the system.
If the radiator is cracked then the vehicle has ran dry on coolant. This would cause the radiator to crack if there wasn't any coolant.
A plastic radiator will crack under extreme over heat conditions for example a defective thermostat or bad cylinder head gasket will cause a cooling system to over pressurise and rupture.
THE CAUSE COULD BE A STUCK THERMOSTAT , OR A BLOWN HEAD GASKET, OR A LEAK IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD OR INTAKE MANIFLOD GASKET. A CRACK IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD IS VERY COMMON.. NORTY
