NO.
To replace the heater switch on your k1500 isn't to big of a job. There are a few screws on the bottom of the dash facing. Remove those. Now the face cover will pop of by pulling on it. Some models do not even have screws. Now the switch is exposed and there is 2 to 4 screws holding it in. Remove them. Now the wire harness or harnesses simply unplug. Installation is reverse. on the passenger side under the dash. the lowest point of the black plastic housing, close to the transmission hump. should be 3 or 4 screws or bolts. remove them then pull old heater core and replace with new one. replace screws, hook up hoses and all should be well.
