u can go thre the trunk. either trew the back seat or open the trunk. there is a black plactic pice amost looks like a vent . pull it down and it should come off u moight have to move it well pulling down but its simple.after pulling off look in the u can see bouth unturn just like a regular house bulb . dont touch the new bulb glass part. finger prints on there can make the bulb burn out
To replace the brake light on a 2000 Pontiac Montana open the trunk to reveal the housing units. Find the lights and pull the bulbs out. Replace the units.
I know it will feel like you're going to break it, but if you firmly pull, it comes off. Replace bulb and snap it back on.

Either your parking brake ( emergency brake ) is on or the brake fluid level in your brake master cylinder in your engine compartment is LOW
Why ? Just replace it.

first check your brake fluid it may be low then check the switch at the emergency brake lever it may be stuck
