Yes, from 1982 through to 1992 the rear ends should all fit. The are all the same generation car.
It should fit because they had the same front end from 82 - 90
yes it will
You can go with 87 thru 1995 for a direct fit.
Chevy didn't offer a 350 in an 86 Camaro, but if they did, it would theoretically work in an 87 Caprice.
its 3.08 if its the base model and 3.42 if it has the y 87 package , check owners manual to be sure
Yes... all third generation F body cars had the same crappy 7 - 5/8" rear end. I guess they were like 7.5" and updated to 7.625" later but it was the same housing so it all works anyway. I have an 83 camaro and blasted my rear and replaced it with an 87 that had 4.11's in it... now its a horribly fast accelerating one wheel wonder. I don't know who put those gears in it before junking it, but man is it a strange combination.
The 87 comaro if stock takes GL90 gear oil , if its a posi you will need a special additive Good luck
Yes
The 87 firebird is rear-wheel drive. all firebirds from "67" to end of production in "02" are rear wheel drive
6 1/2"
not unless you get realy realy realy realy realy realy realy realy realy realy creative by re enginering the whole front of the 87 but the only real limit is how much you realy want that 94 suspension on the 87
if your caprice has a 305 or 350 already there shouldn't be a problem. otherwise new or custom motor mounts will be needed, also a tranny to match up to the 350 from the camaro
