Just imagine yourself in that position and then ask the question. You are property that can be bought and sold, you really can't marry, if you have children, they are property that can be sold far away, you can be beaten or branded, you don't have rights for medical care, housing or clothing. You are just like cow, horse or car...to be used as someone else wants to use you.

It involved oppressing and dehumanizing individuals based on their race, denying them basic human rights, and treating them as property to be bought, sold, and exploited. It caused immense suffering and has had long-lasting social, economic, and psychological consequences.

Although it is not black and white, most anti federalists agreed with slavery during the revelutionary time period. They saw it as a necessary evil at the time. How else could one farmer manage an entire plantation and make a profit with out slaves or modern tecnology? The one thing that the anti federalists could be condemed of is that slavery was determined by race and these human beings were basically no better than a horse because of race. Who can justly condem a person to slavery because of skin tone? I would like this to be answered by any man who still agrees with slavery or vews others as lesser beings.

The Republican Party was and still is anti slavery. Abraham Lincoln, the president that ended slavery, was a Republican. The Democrat Party supported slavery. Many that fought, fought to defend their state regardless of their views on slavery.

William Penn opposed slavery for moral and religious reasons, believing that all individuals are equal in the eyes of God. He also felt that slavery was inconsistent with the principles of liberty and justice that he advocated for in his colony of Pennsylvania. Penn believed in treating others with respect and dignity, which led him to be a vocal opponent of the institution of slavery.
