I understand you can remove an animal from the sticky traps with mineral oil but check on this before you lay it down anywhere your cats might get it. There are some electronic rat killers but if you have small cats this could be a problem. DO NOT use any sort of rat poison as it will also kill your cats. The other question is, why aren't your cats killing it? (:
