Huemul, a species of deer native to the Andes in Chile and Argentina, primarily feed on a variety of vegetation. Their diet consists mainly of grasses, herbs, leaves, and shrubs, particularly in alpine and subalpine habitats. They are known to graze on tender plant shoots and can also consume bark and fruits when available. This diverse diet helps them adapt to the harsh mountainous environment they inhabit.
