Domestic animals require special nutrients because they can no longer eat a majority of foods that can be digested by their wild counterparts. A bobcat can eat birds, rabbits and fish where as domestic cats are at greater risk of disease and parasites.
A wild cat can feed on wild prey that would kill a domestic cat. A healthy domestic long hair can catch and kill small out door bird or rat, but a wild cat has a much greater immune system. Raw eggs and uncooked fish would eventually kill or shorten a domestic cats life.
