On most vehicles the bumper is attached with about 8 bolts - 4 on either end. You may need to remove a couple of exterior trim pieces as well to give yourself some room and maneuverability. When you decide to remove the bumper, GET SOME HELP - they tend to be quite heavy.
thats a fun job. you have screws on the inside of the front fenders that attacches the bumper. Take them out. There are screws under the front of the bumper along the width of the Jeep. Take them out. Take your grill off by reomving the three screws in the grill. Remove the turn signals, than take the headlight mount out with the head lights still attached. ther3e is no way around this. Take the push pins out. If you break them got to auto zone and get new ones.after ypu get it all removed, than you can slide the bumper foward. I do not believe there is a metal bumper. There is a foam insert that goes inside the bumper cover.
