Now, I'm not the best at reading crochet directions, personally, I like symbol crochet charts to read. To me, it's easier to understand.

Okay, my best guess would be that you:

  • double crochet twice into a single chain stitch (from the row below)
  • do it again (double crochet 2 stitches into the next chain stitch)
  • now, skip the next chain stitch (don't stitch anything into that chain stitch)
  • now, double crochet into the following chain stitch.

Without punctuation is it unclear whether you are to repeat the above stitch set in the order given five times, or whether it means to repeat the last instruction (double crochet in next chain) 5 times. If you have a photo of the finished piece you should be able to tell if there are five double crochets in a row as the last part of the repeat.

How do you form a double treble crochet stitch?

First, make a chain that is three stitches longer than the number of double crochets you want in your row. Bring yarn once over hook from the back to front; skip the first three chains from the hook, then insert the hook into the 4th chain. Hook yarn and draw it through the chain stitch into the working area of your hook. You now have three loops. Hook yarn and draw through the first 2 loops on the hook. You have two loops. Hook yarn. Draw yarn through both loops. When you reach the end of the row, make three chains before turning to start the next row. This chain three counts as the first double crochet of the row.

When you start to crochet a pattern and it says sc6 into a circle how do you do it?

When a crochet pattern calls for sc6 into a circle, what the instructions are stating are to make a magic circle, and then single crochet 6 stitches into the magic circle.Nice, hunh? Now, what in the world is a 'magic circle' (or magic loop. or magic ring)??? Well what you do is loop your yarn/thread around your fingers twice, then single crochet the 6 stitches into the loops, then you will pull one of the ends of the loop/circle/ring, to close the loop up. Viola` you have begun your pattern using 6sc, and minimizing the hole in the center of the pattern.I would suggest that you check out youtube.com to find video how-to's for the magic circle, magic ring, magic loop. I've attached a number of links to this question, which will send you to youtube to check out the videos.

Willl trying to start by car when already running damage the car?

Yes. You can damage your starter bydouble starting the vehicle. It will not damage it if done only a few times and not for long periods, if you did double start once or twice, don't worry. Most newer vehicles have a bypass that will not let you double start your car.

What does DC mean in crochet instructions?

double crochet If your instructions use American terminology, Yarn over (yo). Remember to bring yarn from back to front, over and around hook. Insert hook into chain or stitch, yarn over again, pull yarn through chain or stitch. You have three loops on hook at this point. Then yarn over, pull through 2 of those loops, yarn over, pull through the remaining two loops. If your instructions originate outside the U.S. dc still means double crochet, but it is worked as an American treble or triple crochet stitch. yo twice, insert hook into top two loops of stitch (unless otherwise specified), yo, pull through stitch (4 lps on hk), (yo, pull through 2 lps) 3 times

What is a tr in crochet and how is it used in creating different crochet patterns?

In crochet, a "tr" stands for treble crochet, which is a tall stitch that creates a loose and open texture in the fabric. It is used in creating different crochet patterns by adding height and creating a lacy or airy effect. The treble crochet stitch is made by wrapping the yarn twice around the hook before inserting it into the stitch, which results in a taller stitch compared to other basic crochet stitches like single or double crochet.

How do you single and double crochet?

The following is the American meaning of double crochet. The British system would call this stitch a treble. A British d.c. is an American single crochet. Double crochet is one of the three basic stitches of crochet: chain, single crochet and double crochet. To make a double crochet: 1. Put the working yarn over the hook (this is called a "yarn over"). 2. Insert the hook in the next stitch in the row below. 3. Yarn over again and pull that yarn over back out through the stitch. There are now three loops on the hook. 4. Yarn over again, and pull that yarn over through the first two looks on the hook. Two loops remain on the hook. 5. Yarn over again, and pull that yarn over through the remaining two loops. When you finish a row and turn, start a row of double crochet by first chaining three stitches. This chain-3 counts as the first stitch of the row. For a single crochet, chain only one to start a new row.

Can you substitute a half double crochet for a double crochet?

For a double crochet, you yarn over and pull a loop through the target stitch. There are three loops on the hook, the one you started with, the yarn over, and the loop you just pulled up though the target stitch. Pulling a loop through two loops at a time means two strokes, or a double crochet. A treble builds on this. For a treble crochet, you yarn over twice before pulling a loop through the target stitch. That means four loops on the hook. Pulling a loop through two loops at a time means three strokes, or a treble (triple) crochet. A double treble builds on this. For a double treble crochet, you yarn over three times before pulling a loop through the target stitch for a total of five loops on hook. Pull a new loop through two loops on the hook four times. To put it another way: The procedure is to yarn over three times, insert hook into the indicated stitch, yarn over and pull through the stitch (5 loops on hook at this point), yarn over and pull through two loops at a time, four times.Just as in the double and treble above you increase the number of beginning yarn overs and the number of times you pull through two loops. It seems like it ought to mean 2 x 3 or six loops, but it doesn't. A triple treble isn't 3 x 3 either, it's four yarnovers and five loops. The abbreviation for a double treble is typically dtr.
