Have you checked the ignition control module? Have you checked the ignition control module?
ignition module is found behind battery box right hand side
From 1991 to 1995 with the EEC-IV system there is an external ignition control module mounted on the radiator support in front of the battery. Remove the battery in order to change the module. 1996 and newer with the EEC-V system, the ignition control module is incorperated into the powertrain control module (PCM) that is visible from the engine compartment, in the firewall, on the passenger side.

Can't find module 94 maxima thanks
the module is located on the passenger side inner fender well in the same area as the air cleaner and heater control valve
1994 was the last year the Ranger used an ignition control module on the 2.3 and 2.5. The ignition control module was attached to the lower intake manifold.

The ignition module and coil are contained inside the distributor and are not serviced as separate parts.
Most likely it is the Ignition Control Module.

no cam ref signalfrom ignition control module
Inside the distributor cap under the rotor
P041 is "No Cam Reference Signal from the Ignition Control Module"
The engine computer (behind the battery) is the ignition module.
