Try to reset dual climate HVAC door servo by disconnecting battery for 5 minutes mininum, then reconnect. If this doesn't work, servo has fallen out of range and needs to be replaced.

This was happening to my 99 olds. Intrigue. Took it in, and it had a broken valve they replaced it and recharged the freon and it works great.

If you get good cold air on the passenger side and not on the drivers side this would indicate that you have a malfunctioning Automatic Zone Control system or AZC (this is climate control and an option that most GCs came with). The AZC controls where cold /hot air is routed to and also has a sophisticated diagnostic function that tests the system and reports codes on the display at the place you would normally see the temp displayed. If you do have a problem that is sensed by the diagnostics you will see the letters ER displayed once at that location during the start up of your engine. To activate the display to see which codes are displayed you puth the AC and RECIR buttons at the same time , hold them in while rotatin the temp knob on click clockwise. The complete display should light up (this is the "Segment Test) and if any section of the display does not light up this means that the whole AZC control panel is faulty and needs to be replaced. After the Segment Test completes release the buttons and the display will automatically begin displaying any stored trouble codes. If no codes are displayed a 00 will display. These codes are numbered from 00 to 61 and space/time constraints don't allow me to write all that info down but I would think that you might see a 19 through 24 code as those directly relate to operation of the Blend Air Doors that control the direction of the air flow.

SO.......all that is very interesting of course but it does not solve the problem.

The bad news here is that while the control modules (black boxes) that are the brains of the AZC are easy to get to and replace, the actual doors live in the darkness behind the dash and generally the whole dash must be removed in order to get to those doors and vents. This is something that can be done but I know from experience that the labor costs alone will run close to a thousand dollars just to get to it all and then the replacement parts will drive the cost even higher.

I would recommend that you take this to a reputable AC specialty repair shop or to a dealer for a professional diagnostic and repair cost estimate since the effort that you would expend and the aggravation of taking apart the dash is SO high that it will be worth it to get several opinions. Also, if you do elect to have a shop do this work it would be foolish not to have them also further service the AC system by cleaning out the condenser box and vent hoses.

I hope this at least is food for thought and gets ya pointed in the right direction. Good luck to you !!
